Sugar Hill Postpones 'Sparks in Park' Event over Weather Forecast

The annual concert and fireworks event will be held Aug. 3.

Because of forecasts of threatening weather, the City of Sugar Hill has rescheduled its planned Independence Day event.

"Sparks in the Park," originally planned for Wednesday, July 3, has been postponed until Saturday, Aug. 3, 6:30 p.m.

According to an announcement Tuesday on the City of Sugar Hill website, "the forecast is for severe weather, therefore our concern for the safety of our citizens and performers has forced us to make this decision.

"We did not take this decision lightly. Sparks in the Park is our premier event and draws about 10,000 people to EE Robinson Park each year. ..."

"By making this decision today instead of waiting until tomorrow, we are able to save the cost of the band and fireworks ...", the announcement said.
