Updated 8:45 a.m., July 29

A Buford man has been charged with Boating Under the Influence after an injury accident Sunday evening (July 28) on Lake Lanier.

According to Mike Burgamy of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Andrew Ross Lockey, 37, of Buford, the driver of a boat that was pulling a tube, is facing BUI and reckless operation charges.

The tube had two people in it. The boat pulling the tube made a left turn, and slung the tube into another boat, which was reportedly sitting still, officials said.

A man in the tube reportedly complained of chest and leg injuries. He eventually was transported by Gwinnett Fire to Gwinnett Medical in Lawrenceville.
