A Jan. 13 shopping trip ended with a call to the Gwinnett County Police Department after an Adel, Ga. woman discovered someone had damaged her vehicle while she was inside the mall. The woman said she arrived at the mall at approximately 11 a.m. to go shopping. When she returned to her vehicle at around 5 p.m., she discovered someone had used a key or similar object to scratch the entire length of the driver and passenger sides of her 2008 Audi. A Buford employer is out $600 after a former employee allegedly slashed his tires. The man told police that an ex-employee called him on Nov. 9 demanding to be paid. The employer said he had already paid the woman all he owed and refused to give her any more money. According to the police report, when the employer informed the woman he did not owe her any more money, she “became irate on the phone and started cursing at him and said, ‘I am going to [expletive deleted] you up.’ ” Later that afternoon, the employer walked outside and heard a hissing sound coming from his vehicle. A Sugar Hill man found himself in need of a new paint job for his vehicle after a vandal or vandals spray-painted words and an obscene image on the side of his Ford Expedition. The man told police he parked his vehicle outside his Level Creek Road apartment at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 12. When he returned to his vehicle the following morning, he discovered that someone had spray-painted the letter “I,” a heart symbol and male genitalia on the passenger side of his vehicle. According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the man has called 911 several times regarding the activities of one of his neighbors. A Mall of Georgia employee told police she had no idea who was responsible for an act of vandalism that resulted in several hundred dollars worth of damage to her car. According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the employee parked her car -- a 2001 white Acura -- at approximately 1 p.m. on Oct. 7. When she returned to her vehicle after work at 8:15 p.m., she discovered that someone had scratched the words “Troll” and “LOL” into the driver’s side door. The employee advised that she had spoken with loss prevention at the mall and that they would review the surveillance footage once she filed a police report. The case is listed as active. Gwinnett County Police are investigating an Oct. 6 act of vandalism in Hamilton Mill, which, according to the police report, the homeowner believes may have been racially motivated. Police were called to the 3700 block of Millwater Crossing after a homeowner discovered a swastika and the letters “KKK” had been spray-painted on her driveway with green spray paint. The initials “JK” had also been painted on the driveway. The woman, who is African-American, reportedly told the officer she believed her family had been targeted because of their race.
