It wasn't exactly a set nesting dolls, but a Buford man reportedly used a similar technique to conceal a bag of methamphetamine in his vehicle. On March 25, a Gwinnett County Police officer investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle found Jason Scott Green, 33, of Buford, sitting in a Kia Spectra on Maddox Road. Green had parked the vehicle facing the wrong direction and had stopped approximately two feet from the curb. When the officer asked Green what he was doing, Green reportedly said he was programming his new cell phone. A subsequent license check revealed Green was on probation. A Buford man under investigation for crashing his car into a Buford Highway business suddenly found himself in even deeper trouble when a bag of methamphetamines fell out of his pocket as he spoke with police. Gwinnett County Police were called to a business in the 2200 block of Buford Highway on Feb. 12 after a vehicle crashed into the side of the building. The store clerk called because she suspected the driver might attempt to leave the scene. When police arrived, the driver, identified as Thomas Chandler, 60, of Buford, was standing next to the vehicle. Mother tells police drug habit may explain why her son broke into a gas station.

A Buford man sought help from law enforcement after finding illegal drugs in his 20-year-old son’s bedroom. The son, identified as Branden Fredricks of Springlake Circle in Buford, had been found unconscious by his sister on the afternoon of Jan. 7. According to the police report, the sister found a glass pipe and several pieces of a crystal substance beside Fredricks. “She woke him and asked him what it was, but he would not tell her,” the officer wrote in the report. The sister and her father subsequently searched Fredricks’ room and found two small baggies containing the same crystal substance. The father then called police. A woman who knocked on the door of a Sugar Hill residence and later exposed herself while running from officers was apparently under the influence of narcotics. Gwinnett County Police were called to a home in the 1400 block of Hillcrest Drive in Sugar Hill on Dec. 3 after residents said a woman who had knocked on the door asking for water was refusing to leave. According to the incident report, the 37-year-old woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs. “[The woman] would speak plain English at one moment, then speak gibberish the next,” the officer wrote in the report. “[Her] movement was erratic and was consistent with someone who abused methamphetamines.” The woman admitted smoking marijuana earlier in the day and also said she …
