'Gun Appreciation Day': Americans Urged to Show Support for Second Amendment on Jan. 19

Coalition urges Americans to go to firing ranges, gun stores and shows with American flags, the Constitution and "Hands off my guns" signs.

"Americans love their guns and their Second Amendment right to bear arms," according to a flyer created by the organizers of "Gun Appreciation Day" -- a day during which Americans nationwide are being urged to show their support for gun ownership by visiting gun stores, ranges and shows. Organizers hope the Jan. 19 event -- two days before President Barack Obama's second inauguration -- will rival "Chick-fil-A Day" as "a public statement of protest against government policies." Americans are further urged, according to the Gun Appreciation Day website, to "go to your local gun store, gun range or gun show with your Constitution, American flags and your 'hands off my gun' sign to send a loud and clear message to Congress and President Obama…
