Police Investigating Another Burglary Involving Stolen Cigarettes
Several similar incidents have occurred over the past few months.
Nearly three dozen cartons of cigarettes were stolen during a Jan. 27 burglary at a Hamilton Mill Road convenience store. Gwinnett County Police responded to a burglary alarm at the Chevron located at the corner of Hamilton Mill Road and Puckett’s Mill Road and, upon arrival, found the front glass door of the business had been smashed. A hammer was found on the floor behind the cash register and cigarette cartons were scattered nearby, the report stated. Video surveillance showed a white male enter the store at 3:58 a.m. The suspect was wearing a white or khaki-colored hooded jacket, blue jeans, a black mask, white gloves and black shoes. “The suspect walked over to the cigarettes and started putting them in a cardboard box,” the officer …
