A Ford Expedition belonging to a Buford woman was broken into while she worked out at Anytime Fitness on Hamilton Creek Parkway in Dacula.

Video surveillance at a Dacula workout facility captured a suspect breaking into two cars during the early evening hours of Feb. 4. A Buford woman called Gwinnett County Police after leaving Anytime Fitness, located on Hamilton Creek Parkway in Dacula, and noticing the lock on her 2006 Ford Expedition had been punched. A Sony digital camera, an iPhone 4 and a Dell computer were reported stolen. The officer reviewed the facility's surveillance footage, which showed a male subject in a late model silver Chevrolet Suburban park next to the Expedition. A five-minute trip into the Buford Walmart on Jan. 26 was just enough time for a quick thief to smash the window of a Gainesville woman’s car and snatch a company iPad that had been left in the vehicle. The woman said she parked her car next to a gray passenger car occupied by three males. The woman told police she was only in the store for about five minutes. When she returned to her vehicle, she found the rear driver’s side passenger window smashed. A company iPad, which she had left on the floorboard near the front seat, was gone. Gwinnett County Police are investigating multiple car break-ins in which the thief or thieves punched out the door lock to gain access to the interior of the vehicle. On Jan. 18, a Hoschton resident discovered his 2009 Ford F150 had been entered while he was at Taco Mac on Woodward Crossing Boulevard. The man told police he arrived at Taco Mac at around 10:30 p.m. When he returned to his vehicle three hours later, he noticed the keyhole in his driver’s door had been punched out with a tool. An iPod, which the man said was inoperative, was missing. The next morning, the man awoke and realized his laptop had also been in the vehicle and was missing. Gwinnett County Police are investigating several car break-ins that occurred on Jan. 12 at the Mall of Georgia. In one of the incidents, a Louisiana woman said she parked her car at the mall at approximately 5:20 p.m. When she returned just over an hour later, she discovered her MacBook Pro, iPod Touch, Nikon camera, iPad, jewelry and Nokia cell phone were missing. The woman said one of the back doors to the car was unlocked when she got to the vehicle. The total value of the stolen items was estimated to be $3,000. In another incident, a Toccoa man said his Droid phone, valued at $600, and his Barrett 9 mm handgun, valued at $700, were taken out of his vehicle.
