New Speed Limits in Buford and Sugar Hill

Gwinnett commissioners have amended the county speed zone ordinance. Share your thoughts.

Some major roads in Buford and Sugar Hill have new speed limits, due to recent action by the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners.

In Sugar Hill, the speed limit on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard is now 50 mph from Nelson Brogdon Boulevard (State Route 20) to the Hall County Line. Also, PIB is now 45 mph from Suwanee city limits to SR 20.

In Buford, the speed limit on Main Street is now 25 mph. This is based on a City of Buford resolution related to the speed limit on East Main Street.

The Gwinnett commissioners approved an amended speed zone ordinance earlier in August that also affected several other streets in the county. Transportation Director Kim Conroy said that new signs will be installed in the coming weeks.

Note: This information comes from the City of Sugar Hill and Gwinnett County.
