1. 11 to Go: Buford needs just 11 points Friday to break the all-time Georgia record for points scored in a single season, currently 682 points (Dublin, 2006). The Wolves are averaging 48 points per game.

2. Championship Pedigrees: Buford and Washington County have combined for 12 state championships. Buford has 9 (including 2012). Washington County has 3 (1994, 1996 ans 1997, all in Class 2A).

3. After Winless Start, Wow: Buford coach Jess Simpson, who can become the fourth Georgia coach to win six titles, was 0-10 in his first season as a head coach at East Paulding. By the way, Simpson also was an assistant on three Buford championship teams before replacing Dexter Wood as head coach.

4. Washington good on the ground: The Golden Hawks have three 1,000-yard rushers who have combined for 4,600 yards and 70 TDs. Buford averages 272 rushing yards per game, but doesn't have a 1,000-yard rusher.

5. Too Close to Call? The Maxwell Ratings, featured by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Georgia High School Football Daily, has Buford listed as a 1-point favorite.
