Buford High Takes Sports Prowess to New Region in 2014

Wolves placed in Region 8-AAAA, with many new opponents.

Buford High School, which has won state championships in every Georgia High School Association classification it has resided, will step up to a new class and region next year.

The GHSA released its proposed region realignment for its membership this week, resulting in Buford moving up to play in Region 8-AAAA, beginning in 2014.

Buford, which has won state football titles in classes A, AA and AAA, currently competes in Region 6-AAA. The Wolves play Callaway Friday in the Class AAA football semifinals.

The alignment is tentative until after the GHSA Executive Committee hears final appeals in January.
