Buford Wolves Go for GHSA Basketball Sweep in Class 3A

Wolves Nation has a chance to celebrate more state championships this weekend.

If you think sports at Buford High School is all football and nothing but football, you haven’t been paying attention.

This winter has been pretty special so far for Wolves Nation.

Buford’s boys and girls basketball teams will both play for Georgia High School Association championships this weekend. That would be a first for the school, which has three previous girls state championships (2009-11), but none in boys.

Combined with state championships won in traditional and duals wrestling, also firsts for Buford, this winter has been one to remember. (And don’t forget Buford’s football championship in December)

It’s unclear if any school has ever won wrestling, football and both basketball titles in the same school year.
