North Gwinnett Middle School Teacher Named Volunteer of the Year

Amy Clement, a music teacher at North Gwinnett Middle, was recently honored by the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA).

A local middle school teacher has been honored by the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA).

Amy Clement, a music teacher at North Gwinnett Middle, was recently named GMEA Volunteer of the Year. According to a press release from Gwinnett County Public Schools, Clement earned the recognition for "going above and beyond as a professional in the field of music education."

An orchestra teacher since 1997, Clements is currently in her fourth year as a one of the orchestra directors at North Gwinnett Middle School. In addition to her teaching duties, Clements serves as co-sponsor of the school's Tri-M honors society, which recognizes students for musical talent and academic achievement.

Clements began studying the violin at age five at the University of Louisville and graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in string education.
