GDOT, City of Buford to Hold Open House to Discuss Widening Buford Highway

The open house will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4 from 4-7 p.m.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the City of Buford will hold an open house on Thursday, Oct. 4 from 4-7 p.m. to discuss the proposed widening of Buford Highway from Sawnee Avenue to just south of Friendship Road in Hall County.

GDOT engineers will be available to discuss the project, but there will be no formal presentation.

“This project will improve the traffic flow through the area by creating additional lanes for vehicles and sidewalks on both sides of the roadway for pedestrians. Please come see the plans and let us know what you think about this plan,” said DOT District Engineer Bayne Smith in a released statement.
