Woman Suffers Burns to Arms in Buford House Fire

Afternoon fire reported on South Alexander Street in Buford.

A woman sustained moderate burns to her arms in a Thursday afternoon house fire in Buford.

Firefighters responded to a call on the 200 block of South Alexander Street in Buford just before 2 p.m., according to a fire department media release.

The two-story house on a slab was severely damaged, with the roof burned through. A house next door had some minor damage from the radiant heat.
Because of the heavy fire, smoke and heat, the fire was fought from the outside. The fire took more than an hour to bring under control.
