Woman Says Ex-Boyfriend Threatened Her, Attempted to Cause Car Crash

Man also a suspect in theft of woman’s phone and GPS.

A Buford woman sought refuge at her father’s Dacula home after an alleged assault by her ex-boyfriend.

The 24-year-old woman told police she was giving her ex-boyfriend a ride home from Athens in the early morning hours of Jan. 19 when he became upset after she would not give him the passcode to her phone.

“She stated he was intoxicated and began pushing her head up against the driver’s side window and attempting to make her crash her vehicle,” the officer wrote in the report.

After the ex-boyfriend allegedly threatened her, the woman went to her father’s Laurel Song Trail home and left her ex-boyfriend in the car. When she returned to her car later that morning, her iPhone 4 and Garmin GPS were missing. The woman said her ex-boyfriend had also ripped the rearview mirror off the windshield.

The woman was uninjured and was advised to visit a magistrate judge in order to get a restraining order and to swear out warrants against her ex-boyfriend for theft.

The case is listed as active.
