Witness Sees Male Smash Car Window As Driver Walks Into Store

Said the incident happened so fast she did not get a good look at the suspects, but was able to provide police with a tag for the suspect vehicle.

A five-minute trip into the Buford Walmart on Jan. 26 was just enough time for a quick thief to smash the window of a Gainesville woman’s car and snatch a company iPad that had been left in the vehicle.

The woman said she parked her car next to a gray passenger car occupied by three males. The woman told police she was only in the store for about five minutes. When she returned to her vehicle, she found the rear driver’s side passenger window smashed. A company iPad, which she had left on the floorboard near the front seat, was gone.

A Dacula woman witnessed the incident and advised that as soon as the woman walked inside the store, one of the males exited the gray passenger car, smashed the window, crawled inside the car and took something from the front seat area.
