Traffic Stop Near Mall of Georgia Yields $165,000 in Meth

Two arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

A recent traffic stop by Gwinnett County Police on Interstate 85 near the Mall of Georgia resulted in two arrests and the seizure of more than $165,000 worth of methamphetamine, according to Channel 2 News and AccessNorthGeorgia.com

Gerardo Guerrero-Rico and Karina Estrada were charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

About $2,500 in cash was also found.

The officer who stopped the vehicleΒ became suspicious while questioning the driver and asked for permission to search the vehicle. The meth was found in a gym bag in the back seat.

Both suspects remained in the Gwinnett County Jail Tuesday (Sept. 10).
