Suspect Sought in Home Invasion Robbery at Buford Home

Victims were a 10-year-old and a 14-year-old boy who lived at the home.

Gwinnett Police are searching for a suspect in a home invasion robbery of a Buford home who fled the scene by car. Victims of the home invasion were a 10-year-old and a 14-year-old boy who lived at the home at 4124 Suwanee Trail. Their parents had not yet arrived home from work when the home invasion and robbery occurred.

GCPD officers responded to a report of the home invasion robbery about 3:35 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 12), according to the incident report. 

Police described the suspect as a black male wearing a white v-neck shirt, camouflage shorts and red and black shoes. He is about 5’10” tall and weighs about 170 lbs. He was driving a white Buick Century.

Detectives estimate the suspect held the two victims for about 30 minutes.  The victims were not injured.

Gwinnett Police officers got behind the suspect vehicle on I-85 South near Beaver Ruin Road. The vehicle fled from police and crashed near exit 86 off I-85 South, then the suspect fled on foot. GCPD, Georgia State Patrol and Atlanta Police Department officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect's vehicle was not stolen and was recovered by GCPD at the scene of the crash. Most, if not all, of the items stolen from the victims' home were in the vehicle.  A handgun was also found in the vehicle.  

Detectives do not know if the suspect has any other weapons and still consider him armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on this case should call GCPD Robbery Unit detectives at 770-513-5300.  Anyone encountering the suspect should call 911.
