Police Blotter: Stolen Catalytic Converter, Missing Tools and Ungodly Behavior

A look at recent theft reports in the Buford area.

So that’s why it wouldn’t start …

A Flowery Branch man drove to the Steak and Shake on Buford Drive on Dec. 16 after his daughter called to say something was wrong with her vehicle. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the man found the problem -- the catalytic converter had been stolen.

According to the police report, the vehicle had been in the parking lot for approximately eight hours.

Seizing the opportunity

While most people wouldn’t even consider walking into someone’s open garage and helping themselves to a bunch of tools, an opportunistic thief did just that on Dec. 20.

A Huddlestone Lane resident told police he inadvertently left his garage door open overnight. The next morning, he discovered two power drills and a miter saw were missing. The tools were valued at $500.

Thou shalt not steal

Apparently knowledge and adherence to the Ten Commandments are not prerequisites for attendance at church events.

A Buford woman called police on Dec. 17 after realizing her wallet was missing. According to the woman, she had been at a church gathering and left her purse unattended. She believes the wallet was stolen during that time.

The woman subsequently discovered the thief had used her credit cards to make several fraudulent charges.

there are now multiple treatments available to solve the 'allergy' problem; one will work - it'sRead More just a matter of finding the right one. it is not necessary to 'dump' a member of the family anymore. after decades of not being able to enjoy a family pet, about ten years ago my mother found the right treatment after trying about six different ones. she and my cats have been the best of friends ever since. it's just a matter of trying a little bit more.

Yes, we have tried multiple treatments for over a year now. Unfortunately, the allergy symptomsRead More along with inflated adenoids are so harsh that they end up causing sinus and ear infections with a extremely high fever. (104.7 has been the highest) My 6 year old is constantly at the doctor, at least once a month if not more. He is now awaiting surgery for his sinuses and inflamed tissue to help in the situation.
