Male Armed With Pistol ‘Buys’ Energy Drink So He Can Rob Hamilton Mill BP Station

Man takes the money and runs, leaves energy drink at store.

A male suspect escaped with approximately $100 after pointing a gun at a clerk and snatching money out of the register during a Nov. 11 robbery at the Hamilton Mill BP station on Hamilton Mill Road.

Gwinnett County Police were dispatched to the gas station shortly before 5 a.m. on Sunday. According to the clerk, a male suspect entered the store, calmly approached the clerk and withdrew a silver pistol from his pocket. The robber reportedly instructed the clerk to open the cash register. When the clerk informed the robber he could not open the register unless a transaction was made, the robber grabbed a MIO energy drink and handed it to the clerk. The clerk then rang up the energy drink so that the register would open. Once the register was open, the robber snatched approximately $100 and fled the gas station on foot.

The entire incident was captured on video surveillance.
