Charity Donations Stolen During Burglary

Incident occurred at a Buford fast food restaurant.

Gwinnett County Police are investigating an Oct. 21 burglary in which the thief or thieves escaped with a collection box containing donations for charity.

Police were called to the Wendy’s on Mall of Georgia Boulevard in Buford after the manager arrived at work and noticed one of the windows had been smashed. According to the police report, glass was scattered throughout the dining area. The investigating officer was unable to locate any object that might have been used to break the glass.

The only item reported missing was a collection box for the Dave Thomas Adoption Foundation. The box contained approximately $20.

Though the store is equipped with surveillance cameras, none of them were operational at the time of the burglary.

The case is listed as active.
