Car Vandalized After Accident

Man left car unattended after it was disabled in an accident and returned later to find it had sustained additional damage.

A bad day took a turn for the worse after a man’s vehicle sustained damage in an accident and then again at the hands of a vandal or vandals.

On Sept. 22 at approximately 7:30 p.m., the man left his vehicle unattended on Gravel Springs Road near Morgan Road after he was involved in an accident. The man said he left the car at the scene after filing an accident report with police since the vehicle was too heavily damaged to drive.

When he returned several hours later with a tow truck, he discovered that someone had smashed the front and rear windshield of his 2001 Toyota Celica, broken both side mirrors, scratched the hood and broken a fiberglass scoop. According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
