Buford Woman Facing DUI Charges After Accident
The suspect also is charged with leaving the accident scene.
A Buford woman is facing DUI charges after an accident on Harbins Road in Dacula in which she allegedly rear-ended a vehicle.
According to Gwinnett Police, Rachel Michelle Bailey of an Amber Creek Drive address was arrested after the July 1 incident in which both she and the vehicle she allegedly hit left the accident scene.
The driver of the other vehicle told police that he observed Bailey's vehicle swerving, and then went around on the left to avoid an accident. Then, the other driver said he was forced to stop because another vehicle made a turn in front of him, then he was hit by Bailey's vehicle.
The incident report says the other driver said that Bailey then left the scene, and the other driver followed and eventually located Bailey's vehicle at a house on Green Alder Drive.
The other driver called police when a man came out of the house "yelling" and with an "unknown object."
During police interviews, Bailey denied that she had been drinking, but the police officer noted that he smelled alcohol from her breath. Tests later revealed a blood alcohol level as high as .098.
Other charges against Bailey include following too closely and not stopping at the accident scene.
