Buford Man Charged with Bilking Investors Out of $2 Million

The Securities and Exchange Commission charged Blake Richards, a registered representative of a broker dealer, with the theft.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has charged a Buford man with violationing federal securities laws regarding misappropriating investor funds.

Blake Richards, a registered representative of a broker dealer, is accused of siphoning off about $2 million from at least six investors, according to the SEC.

The majority of those funds can from retirement savings and/or life insurance proceeds from deceased spouses. Federal officials believe Richards used the money for his personal use.Β
