Armed Confrontation at Bogan Park Ends in Three Arrests

Buford man accused of pointing a pistol at another person during an altercation.

Three Buford men are facing various charges after one of the men produced a pistol during an Oct. 7 incident at Bogan Park.

A Flowery Branch man said he was in the area of the basketball courts at Bogan Park when three men approached him and began “a verbal confrontation.” According to the victim, one of the suspects pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and began waving it in the air before pointing it in the victim’s direction.

The victim left the park and notified authorities. The suspects also left the park and were later spotted on Hamilton Mill Road and subsequently pulled over by a Gwinnett County Police officer. During the traffic stop, the officer recovered the handgun and open containers of alcoholic beverages.

As a result of the investigation, Demond Terrell Jefferson, 18, of 4461 Keenly Valley Drive in Buford was arrested on charges of possession of alcohol in a county park, underage possession, possession of a firearm in a park, open container and aggravated assault.

Aaron Joseph Jackson, 19, of 4260 South Lee Street in Buford was arrested on charges of possession of alcohol in a county park, underage possession, possession of a firearm in a park, open container and driving while license suspended or revoked. Malik Green, 20, also of 4260 South Lee Street in Buford was taken into custody on charges of open container and underage possession.
