Gwinnett County Public Schools in Need of Special Education Teachers

The school system is expected to hire about 250 special education teachers for the 2013-2014 school year, and a job fair to recruit applicants is planned for later this month.

Gwinnett County Public Schools is in need of special education teachers, and the district is hosting a job fair to attract eligible candidates.

The job fair is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 20, at the district headquarters, which is located at 437 Old Peachtree Road N.W. in Suwanee. Interviews are by invitation only, and potential candidates can request to attend.

Job fair requests will be accepted until all interview spaces are filled.

After submitting a request, candidates selected to attend will receive a separate e-mail confirming his or her invitation. Applicants must then complete registration before the job fair. No walk-up registrations will be considered.

The district needs to hire approximately 575 teachers to start this August, and about 250 of those positions are in special education, school officials said.
