Commission Looking for Ways to Keep County Funds From Going to Illegal Immigrants - Smyrna-Vinings Patch

After a 3-2 vote last month against the IMAGE Certification Program -- a proposed code change that supporters say would ensure jobs paid for with taxpayer dollars go to legal U.S. citizens -- the Cobb Board of Commissioners is considering ways to stop county funds from going to illegal immigrants.

Discussion led by District 1 Commissioner Helen Goreham on forming a committee to study illegal immigrants is expected to be on the agenda for the next board meeting.

Man Says Kool-Aid Drink Made Him Want to Kill - Cartersville Patch

A man who was reportedly walking into traffic after midnight on North Tennessee Street said five men gave him a drink that made him want to kill three of those men.

Tavaris Eugene Major, 25, of North Erwin Street in Cartersville, told police Wednesday about 12:02 a.m. that "sometime" that day two African-American men and three men from Mexico gave him a cup of Kool-Aid and told him to drink it.

"Major stated that the drink must have been alcohol because 'it [expletive] me up!'" a Cartersville Police Department officer wrote in the incident report.

Head-On Collision Kills Two in Northeast Forsyth - Cumming Patch

Two people were killed Tuesday morning following a head-on collision on Highway 53 (Dawsonville Highway) in northeast Forsyth County, authorities said.

"What it looks like is that one of the cars actually crossed over the line and hit the other car head-on," said Robin Stone of the Georgia State Patrol, Post 37, the agency conducting the investigation.

U.S. Marshal's Capture Alpharetta Slaying Suspect - Alpharetta-Milton Patch

A suspect in the shooting death at an Alpharetta townhome development near Old Milton Parkway has been captured.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety announced that Shane Demetrice Woods was arrested in Georgia. Woods was captured by the United States Marshal’s Southeastern Fugitive Task Force with assistance by the Fulton County Sheriffs Office, according to George Gordon, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.

Woman: Police Are Devils That Keep Her in Jail - Barrow Patch

Officers with the Winder Police Departmentarrested a woman March 5, 2013, after a Winder resident said he had asked her to leave his house and she went "psycho." 

Police responding to the residence found the woman "curled up into the fetal position, hiding her face," according to an incident report. The resident accused the woman of having torn several items off a bedroom wall and putting a hole in one when he asked her to leave. 

When an officer spoke to the woman, she said she didn't want to look at police because they were devils that kept her in jail.
