Angel Tree Supports Six Local Atlanta-Area Animal Rescues

The Buford Red Bandanna Pet Food location is one of 14 metro area stores participating in an Angel Tree drive to collect items for local pet rescues.

According to Dylan Yellowlees, Social Media and Graphics Manager for Red Bandanna, “This year’s Angel Tree will work just like it has in the past. Customers just pick an Angel while doing their regular shopping and buy what that pet is wishing for this holiday season. We collect the gifts and present them to the rescues at the end of December.”

Last year's efforts resulted in the collection of over $5,000 worth of products.

The six pet rescue organizations being sponsored this year include Adopt a Golden, Boston Terrier Rescue of East TN (in Georgia), Good Mews, Mutt Maddness, Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption, Inc. and You Lucky Dog.

“We are so grateful to partners like Red Bandanna who support our rescue efforts. With over $11,000 of debt due to vet bills, our rescue needs every donation it can get. It is such a tough economy that donations are down while intake of pugs is up. It warms our hearts to be able to provide our foster families with the necessities for caring for our rescues,” said Brenda Megel, President of the Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption, Inc. in a released statement.
