What's Open in Buford on Thanksgiving Day?

Check out several of the businesses that will be open in our hometown on Thanksgiving Day.

  • Regal Cinemas

Feel like adding some popcorn and movie magic to the day?  If you want to catch a movie on Thanksgiving, Regal Cinemas at the Mall of Georgia will be open and showing some of the newest releases. Regal Cinemas is located in the Mall of Georgia at 3333 Buford Drive. Click here for Regal Mall of Georgia showtimes.

  • Oasis Bowling

Hit the lanes at Oasis Bowling located at 1601 Horizon Parkway in Buford. Oasis opens at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and will remain open until 1 a.m.

  • Waffle House

How about some waffles for Thanksgiving? All Waffle House locations are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have several Waffle House restaurants in Buford including locations on Buford Drive and Hamilton Mill Road. Don’t let these guys spend Thanksgiving alone, head out and enjoy some classics including smothered hash browns and double waffles with chocolate chips.

  • Walgreens

Walgreens will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Click here or visit Walgreens.com to find the phone number and location of the Buford Walgreens nearest you.

  • Kroger

Kroger grocery stores will be open for regular operating hours on Thanksgiving. The Kroger store in Buford is located at 3300 Hamilton Mill Road.

  • CVS Pharmacy

The pharmacy at CVS may be your best bet if you need a prescription on the holiday as it will be open from 8 a.m. to  2 p.m. The store will be open for regular operating hours on Thanksgiving Day. Click here to find the location and phone number of your nearest CVS.

Places open nearby:

This year, the Lake Lanier Magical Nights of Lights celebrates its 20th anniversary. The spectacular display features miles of holiday lights and illuminated scenery. Stop in at the resort’s Holiday Village where visitors can roast marshmallows, play carnival games and do a little holiday shopping as well. Tickets are available online or at the resort gates. Please be aware that additional charges apply to Santa photos, amusements and activities within the Holiday Village. The Magical Nights of Lights will run from Nov. 16 through Dec. 31.

Make reservations to dine at the Thanksgiving Buffet at Chateau Elan's Versailles Restaurant. This annual buffet is available from noon until 6:30 p.m. The price for adults is $59 and $25 for children. Reservations at the Versailles Room can be made by calling 678-425-0900 x 6181.

  • Great Escapes Theater Hamilton Mill 14

Feel like adding some popcorn and movie magic to the day?  If you want to catch a movie on Thanksgiving Great Escapes Theater will be open and showing some of the newest releases. Great Escapes Theater is located at 2160 Hamilton Mill Parkway. Visit the theater's website for specific show times.

  • Stars and Strikes Getaway-n-Play

This year you can work off all that turkey while bowling at Stars and Strikes in Dacula. Stars and Strikes will be open from 3 p.m. until Midnight on Thanksgiving Day.

There will be no trash or recycling pickup for the county residents on Thanksgiving Day.
