Resources for Small Business Owners in Gwinnett

National Small Business Week runs June 17-21.

In honor of small business owners everywhere, Patch has pulled together a list of resources you definitely want to know about.

With National Small Business Week upon us -- June 17 through 21, it's a perfect time to be sure you know where to go locally for help and information.

1. Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce

For a fee, business owners will be listed in Gwinnett Chamber materials, receive Gwinnett Magazine, economic development assistance and more. The economic development arm of the chamber is located here.

2. Georgia Small Business Development Center

The center offers low-cost training, free consulting services and continuing education, among other things.

3. Gwinnett Network

This is an Internet-based resource. Here small business owners can connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs for networking opportunities.

4. State of Georgia Small Business Resources

This department provides a wealth of information for entrepreneurs, including how to start a business, mentoring, licensing and more.

5. United States Small Business Administration

The federal Small Business Administration offers online classes, start-up loans and extensive free online information center.

6. Local Economic Development Offices

Many Gwinnett County cities also have resources for small business owners. Snellville, for example, has an extensive program for helping those interested in starting their own business. So, be sure to check with the economic development office of the city you live in.
