New Gwinnett Chamber President & CEO Dr. Daniel J. Kaufman will give his first address to the chamber at a general membership luncheon Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth. The luncheon in the Grand Ballroom from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. precedes the Gwinnett Chamber Business Expo & Job Fair.
Dr. Kaufman will present his vision and goals for the chamber and his plans to help support Gwinnett’s continued success, according to a news release issued by the chamber.
“The chamber is a unique forum in Gwinnett County. The chamber is where all major segments of the community – business, government, education, health care, public service and philanthropic organizations, and the arts – connect,” said Dr. Kaufman.
“The chamber’s mission is to bring all these elements together to craft a common vision for our community and to promote economic and community development in Gwinnett County and the metro Atlanta region. In my new role as Gwinnett Chamber president & CEO, I look forward to working with the area’s many great leaders in the years ahead.”
The Business Expo & Job Fair is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. followed by Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m.
Dr. Kaufman previously served as charter president of Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville. Prior to this, he was a brigadier general in the U.S. Army, serving as Dean of the Academic Board and Chief Academic Officer at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a position from which he retired in June 2005.
