What Were the Winning Powerball Numbers?

Jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing was $588 million.

If you bought your Powerball ticket in Georgia, you did not win last night's $588 million jackpot. Two winning tickets were sold in the Nov. 28 Powerball lottery according to the Georgia Lottery website. The tickets were sold in Arizona and Missouri.

The winning numbers were 5-16-22-23-29 with a Powerball of 6.

However, the luck was not all bad for Georgia Powerball players. A $1 million winning ticket was sold in Georgia and numerous $10,000 prize tickets were sold. The lucky player won $1 million by matching all five white balls. Thirty-three people won $10,000 by matching four of the white balls plus the Powerball number.

Each Powerball ticket cost $2. Players choose five numbers plus a sixth Powerball number. Players matching all six numbers can select an annuitized amount paid out over 29 years or a lump sum payment. For complete details, visit the Powerball website.

ABC News reported lottery officials expected to sell more than 105,000 tickets every minute before the drawing. Despite the long odds for the big jackpot, the overall odds of winning a prize are considerably better at 1 in 55.

Since the last drawing on Nov. 24, the Powerball jackpot grew by over $100 million to a record $588 million

The jackpot for the Saturday, Dec. 1, drawing is an estimated $40 million. The Powerball lottery drawings take place Wednesday and Saturday nights at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time
