Four Charged With Marine's Murder – Acworth Patch
Four men now are charged with murder in the death of Iraq war veteran Zach Gamble. Gamble was found unconscious in the parking lot of a Smyrna apartment complex on the morning of March 25 after a taxi accidentally hit him. Police detectives determined that his severe head trauma came from a beating, not from the cab.
Cobb County police arrested Arthur Lynell Batchelor, 37, of Acworth, Tarell Winston Secrest, 36, of Marietta and Jason Scott Hill, 35, of Marietta on Tuesday. Sean DGene Hall, 38, of Mableton was arrested Monday.
Each is charged with committing felony murder, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
Fourth Suspect Arrested in Drug Deal Murder – Dunwoody Patch
Sandy Springs Police have arrested 23-year old Victor Scott, of the 1100 block of Morgan Falls Road, in connection with the April 14 shooting that killed Patrick Placide.
Last week, Sandy Springs Police detectives arrested three persons in connection with the murder. Placide and 28-year old Willy Jeanlouis were shot in the complex parking lot about 11:30 p.m. that Saturday night. Police described it as a drug deal gone bad.
Placide was dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head. Jeanlouis, who was shot once in the head but escaped, was treated and later released from North Fulton Hospital.
Captain Planet Helps Marietta Students in the Garden – Marietta Patch
Captain Planet made a visit to Birney Elementary on Thursday along with garden consultants and representatives from SCANA Energy to celebrate Earth Day.
The day of activities in the school’s garden included several hands-on stations set up where students learned summer garden planting, how to make wildflower seed bombs and how to release ladybugs.
