A winning lottery ticket worth $500,000 was recently sold in Buford.

Virginia Webster of Alpharetta bought the half-million dollar prize-winning Jumbo Jumbo Bucks ticket at the Suwanee Exxon, located at 4296 Old Suwanee Road in Buford.

According to a Georgia Lottery Corporation press release, the lottery has returned more than $13.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education since its first year. All Georgia Lottery profits pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.
